Is a work jacket too cowboy for a white collar job?

I work and a semi-formal job where my clothes range from business casual to shirt and tie. I need a winter jacket because my current one is a walmart ski jacket that looks dumb and unprofessional. I like the simple look and quality of work jackets like carhartt but they seem to have a really blue collar image, and I don't want to come off like I'm trying to look like a cowboy or something. I'm a fashion moron so please advise.
