Is Sergio Martinez the best boxer alive?
I don't know why people have either Mayweather or Pacquiao at the top of the list. When you look at Martinez's destruction of Pavlik, and his KO of Paul Williams (who both Mayweather and Pacquiao ducked) you have to reassess the situation. Martinez is a threat from welterweight all the way up to full blown middleweight. Neither Pacquiao or Mayweather could dream of posing a threat at middleweight, in my opinion. Martinez was cheated of a decision against Williams in their first fight, and his only loss was when he was a younger (and very different) fighter, against Margarito. So, is there some sort of political game being played here to keep him from the p4p ranking at number one? Everybody knows that a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would be more profitable than a Sergio Martinez fight against either of them, so maybe it is a question of money. Thoughts?
