Tips on Warm Winter Wear for Riding?

I'm at a new barn now, and I seem to get colder while riding. We ride outside quite a bit and the wind really hurts. I'm fine until we have to walk and cool down. Do you guys have any tips on what to wear to stay warm? I currently have long johns, jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, heavy winter coat, and two pairs of socks on. I'm contemplating some coveralls and a Carhartt for Christmas. Are they really as warm as they look? Any good gloves/socks/hats that anyone has found? I have to wear a helmet so a hat won't last long if it can't fit underneath. I was also wondering if the ninja looking face cover ups from State Line Tack worked. I've always wanted one but my mom thinks they look stupid. Any experience with them?
